I passed my therapy dog test AND got a new brother!

So; I passed my first evaluation for Wags for Hope! This means I can visit nursing homes and assisted living homes with Mom, and when I'm a year old I'll be tested to work in hospitals and medical facilities!

We started a new Rally-O class and I LOVE it, even though I sometimes get distracted by all the other dogs.

Mom went and got me a brother! He is a small boston terrier and he is scared of EVERYTHING right now. He doesn't even want to play with the toys I keep giving him, but he likes to chew on my hoofies and rawhides and his bone and definitely doesn't want to share them. Mom says it will take some time for "Bugsy" my new brother to get used to us and the house and Bugsy does like to cuddle with me when he is tired.

Mom says I have to be 'patient' with him (whatever THAT means) and not be too upset that he only likes me sometimes but not all the time. I still like having another dog around vs. having to play with cats all the time... the cats seem to like Bugsy better than me, but maybe that is because he doesn't chase them like I do?

Oscar the French Bulldog Welcomes You!

Hi! My name is Oscar, affectionately known as Oscar-Meyer-Weiner-Dog, OMD, Weiner-Weiner, stink-foo, little man, and many other nicknames.

I am around 6 1/2 months old now.

I came from the Oklahoma Boston Terrier and French Bulldog Rescue Group http://www.obtrs.org/ in Sapulpa, OK. Mom flew all the way to Tulsa OK from Baltimore MD to get me!!

The picture to the left is the one that Mom and Dad saw on Petfinder and fell in love! Well, Mom says she fell in love immediately. Dad wasn't sure he wanted another dog yet. See, Mom told me that before I lived with them- they had another French Bulldog named Rufus (Mom called him lots of names too like RU RU Bear). He died when he was sleeping, and Mom and Dad were very sad. Mom says Rufus wasn't that old but had something called cancer that no one knew about.

Dad was very sad about Rufus, and didn't want to get another dog. Mom says Dad didn't want another dog- ever. Mom was very sad about Rufus and thought the house felt empty without a dog in it; even though I've got lots of feline brothers and sisters!

I'm learning a lot in my obedience classes at Peaceable Paws: http://www.peaceablepaws.com, and I've graduated to LEVEL THREE!
Mom says I'm SO SMART and she is really happy she is using this new positive reinforcement training with me. Apparently Rufus was trained with "traditional" methods and became very stubborn with his obedience.... of course I know nothing about being stubborn...
